So, I’m in a deposition yesterday on an awful death case.

I won’t mention names for privacy purposes but as an Ocean Springs Car Wreck lawyer that has some morals, I was disgusted with what I listened to.

This was a very bad wreck where my client’s sister was killed.

They get in a wreck (through no fault of their own) and then another car comes barreling down the road and smashes into the side of them.

Keep in mind this second car didn’t take long to crash into them after the first wreck.  So, my client is struggling to get his sister out of the car because he knows it’s dangerous and he doesn’t want her to get hurt again in another wreck.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t make it.

A second car smashes into his car and she dies.

So, the insurance defense lawyers are questioning my client as to why he didn’t get his sister out of the car in a different way, here’s some gems from this deposition: “Couldn’t you have moved the front seat up and gotten her out of the car?”  “Couldn’t you have got her out the other door?”  “Couldn’t you have . . .”

You get the idea.

I was absolutely disgusted.

I told these lawyers they were a “shining example of why the public hates lawyers.”

I mean lawyers wonder why we are hated.

I don’t.
