Mark Barhanovich – Idiot Company Kills Him

You probably know that Mark Barhanovich died in a tragic boating accident.

He was doing what many of us love on the Mississippi Gulf Coast – going fishing.

Mark Barhanovich is boating towards Deer Island and hits a pipe under the water.

Mark Barhanovich Would’ve Wanted You To Mark The Pipe Better!

If you’re going to put a pipe under water, have some good common sense to mark the pipe better!

I can guarantee you that Mark Barhanovich and his family wanted you to do this!

If you space them far enough apart that a huge boat can get through it, how in the heck can you expect a boater to know about the underwater pipe?

Was Mark supposed to have xray vision like Superman?

Was I?

Were you?  What if that had been you boating with your kid and the motor flips up into your boat?

 

Mark Barhanovich – Safety Rules Violated

I’ll bet money that safety rules were violated by the company that put this pipe down.

And the complete and utter disregard of those safety rules tragically caused his death.

That could’ve been me, you, a Mom, a Dad, a kid or any of us that use the waters to fish and boat and swim.

Federal navigation laws require a company that puts a pipe in the water to properly light the pipe  and put buoys out in a “sufficient” number to show the pipe’s length and course.

Did they do that?

I don’t think so.  One boater who hit this pipe said the construction workers said he was the sixth boater in 2 hours to hit it.  If that’s the case, do you think the pipe had a sufficient number of lights and buoys on it?

I sure don’t.

Those rules are in place to protect us.

And the company that put this pipe there apparently didn’t really care whether they did it right or not.

And now, a needless death has happened because of it.

What a needless, senseless, stupid thing by the company to do.

For now, my thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of all involved.
