Fog Helps Cause Car Accident Death

Lloyd Higgins, a Bay St. Louis resident, died after a car accident in Waveland, Mississippi.  Higgins was taken to Hancock Medical Center after the wreck.  Subsequently, he died while being taken to the University of South Alabama Medical Center.  According to the Waveland Police Department fog contributed to the wreck.

The fog was so thick that police officer Chris Allen was on Mississippi 603 when he heard the crash but could not see it.  Higgins was thrown out of this car which had crashed with a truck driven by Mark Philyaw.  Lindsey Philyaw was riding with Mark at the time of the crash.
